How we work

Most of our commissions begin with a phone call or an email. However, we encourage you to visit our design office and showroom at the factory workshop in Farrington, Dorset, where you can meet us and see examples of our work.

Following every serious enquiry, Richard Horner or Paul Roberts will visit you in your home. They will listen carefully to your requests and take careful notes of your intentions. Remember - they are there to try and turn your ideas into reality! They will also want to get the feel of the architecture of your house and carry out a survey of the space available for the project.

Designs for your Horner Roberts furniture are created in our Farrington office

The designs for your furniture are created in our Farrington design office. We have more than twenty-five years’ experience of finding solutions to design problems. We don’t necessarily arrive at the ultimate solution straight away, so a little patience is sometimes required! We will present you with a set of plans and elevations so that you can see what we envisage.

At this point we will tell you the projected cost of your project. In the last two years our kitchen projects have ranged between £9,000 and £35,000, many of them being in the £15,000 to £20,000 range. When we have a broad agreement, we put the final details to the design and ask you for a deposit in order to begin the work.

All our furniture is made by hand in our Dorset workshop under the direct supervision of Paul Roberts. All the fitting is done under the supervision of Paul Roberts or Richard Horner. We will coordinate a schedule of installation with you and with any outside contractors who may need to be involved.

If the project involves building work, decorating, plumbing, electrical installation and so on, we can provide qualified contractors to carry out the work, but we will maintain overall control of the job.

We will guarantee your Horner Roberts furniture against any faulty materials or workmanship for a period of five years from the date of completion of the kitchen

No worries
When the installation is complete Paul or Richard will check the installation over before handing over to you. The kitchen is designed for you, so we will want to know that you are completely satisfied with the work. We will go further than this - we will offer a guarantee.

Guarantee
We will guarantee your furniture against any faulty materials or workmanship for a period of five years from the date of completion of the kitchen.
